Availability.

Short title.

SEC. 102. No part of the funds appropriated in this Act shall be used for the maintenance or care of private vehicles. SEC, 103. Whenever any office or position not specifically established by the Legislative Pay Act of 1929 is appropriated for herein or whenever the rate of compensation or designation of any position appropriated for herein is different from that specifically established for such position by such Act, the rate of compensation and the designation of the position, or either, appropriated for or provided herein, shall be the permanent law with respect thereto: Provided, That the provisions herein for the various items of official expenses of Members, Officers, and Committees of the House, and Clerk Hire for Members shall be the permanent law with respect thereto: Provided further, That the provisions relating to positions and salaries thereof carried in H. Res. 533 of the Eighty-fourth Congress and H. Res. 28, 126, and 165 of the Eighty-fifth Congress shall be the permanent law with respect thereto: Provided further, That the provisions of H. Res. 144 of the Eighty-fifth Congress shall be the permanent law with respect thereto. SEC. 104. No part of any appropriation contained in this Act shall be paid as compensation to any person appointed after June 30, 1935, as an officer or member of the Capitol Police who does not meet the standards to be prescribed for such appointees by the Capitol Police Board: Provided, That the Capitol Police Board is hereby authorized to detail police from the House Office, Senate Office, and Capitol Buildings for police duty on the Capitol Grounds. SEC. 105. The appropriations, authorizations, and authority with respect thereto in this Act shall be available from July 1, 1957, unless otherwise provided, fpr the purposes provided in such appropriations, authorizations, and authority. All obligations incurred during the period between June 30, 1957, and the date of enactment of this Act in anticipation of such appropriations, authorizations, and authority are hereby ratified and confirmed if in accordance with the terms hereof. SEC. 106. This Act may be cited as the "Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1958". Approved July 1, 1957. Public Law 85-76

"R o c h a m b e a u Memorial Bridge".

AN ACT To designate the east Fourteenth Street highway bridge over the Potomac River at Fourteenth Street in the District of Columbia as the Rochanibeau Memorial Bridge.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the east Fourteenth Street highway bridge over the Potomac River from a point near Fourteenth Street in the District of Columbia to a point in Virginia shall be known and designated hereafter as the "Rochambeau Memorial Bridge". Any law, regulation, map, document, record, or other paper of the United States in which such bridge is referred to shall be held to refer to such bridge as the "Rochambeau Memorial Bridge".
