" (r) This section may be cited as the 'Policemen and Firemen's Retirement and Disability Act'."

SEC. 4. Nothing in this Act shall be deemed to reduce the relief or retirement compensation to which any person is entitled on the effective date of this Act and the rights of such persons and their survivors shall continue in the same manner and to the same extent as if this Act had not been enacted. REPEALS

SEC. 5. The following Acts and parts of Acts are hereby repealed: (1) The paragraph under the heading "Police and Firemen's F u n d " in the Act entitled "An Act making appropriations for the government of the District of Columbia and other activities chargeable in whole or in part against the revenues of such District for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1925, and for other purposes", approved June 7, 1924 43 Stat. 560. (43 Stat. 539); (2) Section 5 of the Act entitled "An Act to fix the salaries of officers and members of the Metropolitan Police force and the Fire Department of the District of Columbia", approved June 1, 1930 (46 Stat. D.C. Code 4-504. 839); (3) Section 7 of the Act entitled "An Act to fix the salaries of officers and members of the Metropolitan Police force, the United States Park Police force, and the Fire Department of the District cn'*Vi*i°'q*ifi'^°^' of Columbia", approved May 27, 1924 (43 Stat. 176); su, sis, sie. (4) The Act entitled "An Act to permit retired policemen and firemen of the District of Columbia to waive all or part of their relief or retirement compensation", approved August 31, 1954 (68 Stat. D.C. code 4-520. 1044). REIMBURSEMENT TO DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

SEC. 6. There are hereby authorized to be appropriated from revenues of the United States such sums as are necessary to reimburse the District of Columbia, on a monthly basis, for benefit payments made from revenues of the District of Columbia to or for Federal employees and to or for the surviving children and spouse of such Federal employees under the provisions of the Policemen and Firemen's Retirement and Disability Act, to the extent that such benefit payments exceed the deductions from the salaries of Federal employees for credit to the revenues of the District of Columbia. For the purpose of this section, (a) the term "benefit payments" includes relief, retirement compensation, pensions, and annuities and medical, surgical, hospital, and funeral expenses, and (b) the term "Federal employees" means and includes such members of the United States Park Police force as are paid from funds of the United States, members of the White House Police force and such members of the United States Secret Service Division as have or may hereafter become entitled to benefits under the Policemen and Firemen's Retirement and Disability Act.
