of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Hugh Lee F a n t of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the sum of $248.29. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims against the United States arising out of the failure of the Department of the Army to pay his mother class E allotments deducted from his pay for the period February 1, 1946 through October 31, 1946, the present payment of such allotments being barred solely by reason of lapse of time: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 8, 1958.

Private Law 85-554 AN ACT For the relief of Sigfried Olsen Shipping Company.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congtess assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $46,136.62 to Sigfried Olsen Shipping Company, of San Francisco, California. Such sum represents losses on contracts numbered W-35077, R-27745-A, entered into the 17th day of February 1941, between the United States by B. F. Burdick, General Purchasing Officer of the Panama Canal, and Sigfried Olsen, an individual trading as Sigfried Olsen Shipping Company: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 12, 1958.

Private Law 85-555 AN ACT For the relief of former Staff Sergeant Edward R. Stouffer.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assemhJed, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $653.52 to former Staff Sergeant Edward R. Stouffer, of Hagerstown, Maryland, in full settlement of all claims against the United States. Such sum represents a refund of hospital and medical expenses sustained as the result of his wife being confined in the Kent General Hospital, Dover, Delaware, during the month of September 1955. Such confinement being necessary due to an emergency when her admittance was refused by the officer in charge on September 24, 1955, at the Dover Air Force Base Hospital: Provided, that no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to
