FoT the payment of benefits to or on behalf of veterans as authorized b j title II of the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, as amended, and chapters 21, 33, 35, 37, and 39 of title 38, United States Code, and for supplies, equipment, and tuition authorized by chapter 31 of title 38, United States Code, $585,000,000, to remain available until expended. VETERANS INSURANCE AND INDEMNITIES

For military and naval insurance, for national service life insurance, for servicemen's indemnities, and for service-disabled veterans insurance, $53,000,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That certain premiums provided by law to be credited to the "Military and naval insurance" or "National service life insurance" appropriations shall be credited to this appropriation: Provided further, That this appropriation shall be subject to the same statutory provisions and shall be available for the same purpose as formerly applied to the appropriations for "Military and naval insurance", "National service life insurance", and "Servicemen's indemnities". For hospital and domiciliary facilities, for planning and for major alterations, improvements, and repairs and extending any of the facilities under the jurisdiction of the Veterans Administration or for any of the purposes set forth in sections 5001 and 5002, title 38, United States Code, $31,659,000, to remain available until expended. Not to exceed 5 per centum of any appropriation for the current fiscal year for "Compensation and pensions", "Readjustment benefits", and "Veterans insurance and indemnities" may be transferred to any other of the mentioned appropriations, but not to exceed 10 per centum of the appropriations so augmented, and not to exceed $500,000 of the appropriation "Veterans insurance and indemnities" for the current year may be transferred to "Service-disabled veterans insurance fund". Appropriations available to the Veterans Administration for the current fiscal year for salaries and expenses shall be available for services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a). Appropriations available to the Veterans Administration for the current fiscal year for "Inpatient care" and "Outpatient care" shall be available for funeral, burial, and other expenses incidental thereto (except burial awards authorized by section 902 of title 38, United States Code), for beneficiaries of the Veterans Administration receiving care under such appropriations. No part of the appropriations in this Act for the Veterans Administration (except the appropriation for "Construction of hospital and domiciliary facilities") shall be available for the purchase of any site for or toward the construction of any new hospital or home.
