(1) endorse on each of such duplicate originals the word "Filed", and the month, day, and year of the filing thereof; (2^ file in their office one of such duplicate originals of the application and the copy of the articles of incorporation and amendments thereto; (3) issue a certificate of authority to conduct affairs in the District to which they shall affix the other duplicate original application; (4) deliver the certificate of authority, together with the duplicate original of the application affixed thereto, to the corporation or its representative. EFFECT OF CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY

SEC. 70, Upon the issuance of a certificate of authority by the Commissioners, the corporation shall have the right to conduct affairs in the District for those purposes set forth in its application, subject, however, to the right of the District to suspend or to revoke such authority as provided in this Act. REGISTERED OFFICE AND REGISTERED AGENT OP FOREIGN CORPORATION

SEC. 71. Each foreign corporation authorized to conduct affairs in the District shall have and continuously maintain in the District— (a) a registered office which may be, but need not be, the same as its principal office in the District; (b) a registered a^ent, which a^ent may be either an individual resident in the District whose business office is identical with such registered office, or a domestic corporation, whether for profit or not for profit, or a foreign corporation, whether for profit or not for profit, authorized to transact business or conduct affairs in the District, having a business office identical with such registered office. CHANGE OF REGISTERED OFFICE OR REGISTERED AGENT OF FOREIGN CORPORATION

SEC. 72. (a) The registered office of a corporation or its registered agent, or both, may be changed by delivering to the Commissioners a statement setting forth— (1) the name of the corporation; (2) the address, including street and number, if any, of its then registered office; (3) if the address of its registered office is to be changed, the address, including street and number, if any, to which the registered office is to be changed; (4) the name of its then registered agent; (5) if its registered agent is to be changed, the name of its successor registered agent; (6) that the address of its registered office and the address of the office of its registered agent, as changed, will be identical; (7) that such change was authorized by resolution duly adopted by its board of directors, or was authorized by an officer of the corporation duly empowered to make such change. (b) Such statement shall be executed in duplicate by its president or vice president, and ' the corporate seal shall be thereto affixed, attested by its secretary or an assistant secretary, and shall be delivered to the Commissioners.
