For the upkeep and operation of the National Gallery of A r t, the protection and care of the works of art therein, and administrative expenses incident thereto, as authorized by the Act of March 24, 1937 ^50 Stat. 51), as amended by the public resolution of April 13, 1939 20 USC 71. For grants to the State of Alaska to assist in accomplishing an orderly transition from Territorial status to statehood and to facilitate the assumption of responsibilities hitherto performed in Alaska by the Federal Government, and for expenses of providing Federal services or facilities in Alaska for an interim period, as authorized by law (73 Stat. 151), $3,000,000.
