Private Law 88-236 AN ACT For the relief of John T. Cox.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Philip Y. Craig, of 1610 Hershey Lane, Alexandria, Virginia, the sum of $1,091.18. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said Philip Y. Craig against the United States and John T. Cox, and in payment of the judgment and costs docketed in the municipal court for the District of Columbia on December 3, 1962, in favor of the said Philip Y. Craig against the said John T. Cox for false arrest, growing out of an incident at Washington National Airport on May 18, 1958, while said John T. Cox was on duty there as a member of the airport police force: Provided, That no part of the money appropriated in this Act in excess of 20 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved June 11, 1964.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Leonard United States of America, in Congress assembled, That Leonard M. Dalton. M. Dalton of Langley, Washington, is relieved of liability to the United States in the amount of $3,270.92, representing the amount of compensation received by him while employed in 1961 by the United States Air Force, and in 1963 by the Military Sea Transportation Service, in violation of the Act of July 31, 1894 (5 U.S.C. 62). I n the audit 28 Stat. 205; and settlement of the accounts of any certifying or disbursing officer 43 Stat. 245. of the United States, credit shall be given for amounts for which liability is relieved by this Act.
