Doctor Robert H. Goddard Memorial.

Appropriation.

JOINT RESOLUTION Providing for the erertion of a memorial to the late D<)<-l<»r Herbert H. (ioddard, the father of rocketrv.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the National Aeronautics and Space Administration shall erect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts an appropriate memorial to the late Doctor Robert H. Goddard, former professor of physics at (^lark Lniversity in Worcester, Massachusetts, and the father of rocketry. The memorial shall comprise a sculpture in bi'onze or other enduring metal and shall symbolize the scientist's role as the pioneer of the space age. I t shall be located on the Clark University campus in Worcester, Massachusetts, on a site donated by the Clark trustees adjacent to the Robert Hutchings Goddard I^ibrary. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration shall request the advice and comment of the Commission of Fine A i t s and consult with Clark University trustees with respect to the design and setting of the memorial. The memorial shall gi\e appropriate recognition to the pioneering efforts of the late Doctoi' Goddard in his country's achievements in rocketi-y and supersonic flight. SEC. 2.
