Public Law 93-19 JOINT RESOLUTION

To authorize the President to proclaim April 16, 1973, as "Jim Thorpe Day", Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assejnhJed, That, (1) in recognition of J i m Thorpe having been chosen the greatest athlete in the first half of the twentieth century by the Associated Press, (2) in appreciation for the standards of excellence set by J i m Thorpe which have taught all Americans to recognize the innate dignity of their fellow citizen, the American Indian. (3) in recognition of J i m Thorpe's example of overcoming social and economic barriers to achieve excellence, and blazing a trail for other talented minority Americans, and (4) in honor of the recognition J i m Thorpe brought to all Americans with his triumph at the 1912 Olympics, the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating April 16, 1973, as "Jim Thorpe Day-", and calling upon the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. Public Law 93-20 JOINT RESOLUTION April 20, 1973 To authorize ami request the Tresident to proclaim Aiiril 29, 1973, as a clay [H. J. Res. 303] of observance of the thirtieth anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising. ' Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Coiwress assembled. That the 29th day of April Warsaw ghetto 1973 is hereby marked in commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary 30th anniverof the uprising against the Nazi occupation forces by the beleaguered ^ary. _ and outnumbered Jews of the Warsaw ghetto who, by their heroic authoruaUon? struggle, reaffirmed the ineradicable determination of mankind to fight for freedom fiom oppression and symbolized the indestructible spirit of libert}'. The President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation inviting the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceiemonies and a<'tivities. Approved April 20, 1973.

Public Law 93-21 JOINT RESOLUTION To authorize the President to issue a proclamation designating the month of May, 1973, as "National Arthritis Month". Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President of the United States is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation (1) designating the month of May 1973 as "National Arthritis Month", (2) inviting the Governors of the several States to issue proclamations for like purposes, and (3) urging the people of the United States, and educational, philanthropic, scientific, medical, and health care professions and organizations to provide the necessary assistance and resources to discover the causes and cures of arthritis and rheumatic diseases and to alleviate the suffering of persons struck by these diseases. Approved April 20, 1973.
