To reimburse the corporation of Washington the amount advanced to complete the culvert and the paving of Fifteenth Street West, in front of the treasury department, two thousand three hundred and nine dollars and ninety cents. Auxiliaryguard. For the compensation and contingent expenses of the auxiliary guard, fifteen thousand dollars, which shall, from and after the passage of this act, in addition to the captain, consist of thirty men, fifteen at Eve hundred dollars each per annum, and the remainder at four hundred and twenty dollars each per annum, the same to be appointed by the mayor of the city of Washington.
