PUBLIC LAW 94-303—JUNE 1, 1976 URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION FUND (LIQUIDATION OF CONTRACT AUTHORIZATION)

For an additional payment to the urban mass transportation fund, for liquidation of contractual obligations incurred under authority of the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964 (49 U.S.C. 1961 et seq., 49 USC 1601a as amended by Public Laws 91^53 and 93-503) and section 103(e)(4) note, 1601b note, of title 23, United States Code, $86,000,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That none of the funds provided in Public Law 94-134 shall be available for administrative expenses in connection with obligations against contract authority for interstate substitutions under 23 U.S.C. 103 (e)(4) aggregating more than $444,000,000 in fiscal year 1976 and the period ending September 30, 1976, of which not more than $287,000,000 shall be for obligations for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority: Provided further, That such amounts as are necessary for highway projects substituted for Interstate System segments shall be transferred to the Federal Highway Administration. PROJECTS SUBSTITUTED FOR INTERSTATE SYSTEM PROJECTS

For necessary expenses to carry out the provisions of title 23, U.S.C. 103 (e)(4), $188,000,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That such amounts as are necessary to carry out highway projects substituted for Interstate System segments shall be transferred to the Federal Highway Administration. RELATED AGENCIES INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For an additional amount for "Salaries and expenses," $1,700,000, of which $600,000 shall be available for necessary expenses of the Rail Services Planning Office to carry out the powers and duties authorized 45 USC 701 note, by the Regional Rail Reorganization Act of 1973, as amended by the 801 note. Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976; of which $186,000 shall be available for the Office of Rail Public Counsel to carry out the powers and duties authorized by the Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976; and of which $600,000 shall be available tor the Uniform Cost and Revenue Accounting System for railroads. For an additional amount for "Salaries and expenses," for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976, $1,295,000, of which $360,000 shall be available for necessary expenses of the Rail Services Planning Office to carry out the powers and duties authorized by the Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976; of which $225,000 shall be available for the Office of Rail Public Counsel to carry out the powers and duties authorized by the Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976; and of which $500,000 shall be available for the Uniform Cost and Revenue Accounting System for railroads.
