For necessary expenses in carrying out the administration of the New York City Seasonal Financing Act of 1975, as authorized by law (31 U.S.C. 1 5 0 7 (c)), $1,150,000. ! •

PENSIONS

For the payment of compensation, pensions, gratuities, and allowances, including burial awards, plot allowances, burial flags, headstones and grave markers, emergency and other officers' retirement pay, adjusted-service credits and certificates, and other benefits as authorized by law; and for payment of amounts of compromises or settlements under 28 U.S.C. 2672 and 2677 of tort claims potentially subject to the offset provisions of 38 U.S.C. 351, and for payment of premiums due on commercial life insurance policies guaranteed under the provisions of article IV of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act of 1940, as amended, $9,116,800,000, to remain available until expended. 50 USC app. note prec. 540. For the payment of readjustment and rehabilitation benefits to or on behalf of veterans as authorized by law (38 U.S.C. chapters 21, 31, 32, 34-36 and 39), $2,665,225,000, to remain available until expended. 38 USC 801, 1501, 1651-1770, 1901. VETERANS INSURANCE AND I N D E M N I T I E S

For military and naval insurance, national service life insurance, servicemen's indemnities, and service-disabled veterans insurance, $2,465,000, to remain available until expended. MEDICAL CARE

For expenses necessary for the maintenance and operation of hospitals, nursing homes, and domiciliary facilities; for furnishing, as authorized by law, inpatient and outpatient care and treatment to beneficiaries of the Veterans Administration, including care and treatment in facilities not under the jurisdiction of the Veterans Administration, and furnishing recreational facilities, supplies and equipment; funeral, burial and other expenses incidental thereto for beneficiaries receiving care in Veterans Administration facilities; repairing, altering, improving or providing facilities in the several hospitals and homes under the jurisdiction of the Veterans Administration, not otherwise provided for, either by contract or by the hire of temporary employees and purchase of materials; uniforms or
