Subtitle K—Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services APPROPRIATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE OFFICE OF SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

SEC. 991. The appropriations for the immediate office of the 42 USC 350i Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Under Secretary of "°^® Health and Human Services for the executive direction of the Department of Health and Human Services may not exceed $4,125,000 for fiscal year 1982, may not exceed $4,485,000 for fiscal year 1983, and may not exceed $4,875,000 for fiscal year 1984. Before the Secretary may request additional funds for the office of the Secretary or the Under Secretary or request the reprograming to such offices of appropriated funds, the Secretary shall consult with the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives.

TITLE X—ENERGY AND ENERGYRELATED PROGRAMS Subtitle A—Department of Energy Authorization CHAPTER 1-CIVILIAN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AUTHORIZATION OPERATING EXPENSES

SEC. 1001. Funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated in 42 USC 7270 accordance with section 660 of the Department of Energy Organiza- ^ tion Act for operating expenses for the civilian research and develop- ^^ use 7270. ment programs of the Department of Energy for the following appropriations accounts; (1) General science and research activities, (A) for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1982, $439,160,000; (B) for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1983, $471,000,000; and (C) for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1984, $500,000,000. (2) Energy supply, research and development activities, (A) for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1982, $2,057,460,000; (B) for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1983, $2,141,000,000 including programs authorized in section 1007(a)(3)(A);and (C) for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1984, $2,258,000,000 including programs authorized in section 1007(a)(3)(A). (3) Uranium supply and enrichment activities (advanced isotope separation), for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 1982, $80,292,000.
