(2) by inserting after subsection (d) the following new subsection: "(e) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the Commission has no jurisdiction under this subchapter over transportation, except transportation of household goods, by a motor carrier operating solely within the State of Hawaii. The State of Hawaii may regulate transportation exempt from the jurisdiction of the Commission under th^ subsection and, to the extent provided by a motor carrier operating solely within the State of Hawaii, transportation exempt from the jurisdiction of the Commission under section 10523 of this title.".

49 USC 10523. EFFECTIVE DATE

SEC. 31. (a) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c) of this section, this Act shall take effect on the 60th day after the date of enactment of this Act. (b) The amendment made by section 10(e)(4) of this Act shall take effect on October 1, 1982. (c) The provisions of sections 6(g) and 30 of this Act shall take effect on the date of enactment of this Act. Approved September 20, 1982.
