Public Law 98-394 98th Congress Joint Resolution To congratulate the athletes of the United States Olympic team for their performance and achievements in the 1984 winter Olympic games in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia and the 1984 summer Olympic games in Los Angeles, California.

Whereas the attention of millions of people around the world has focused on the 1984 winter Olympic games in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia and the 1984 summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California; Whereas the contingent of athletes from the United States include some of the finest athletes and competitors ever produced by the Nation; Whereas the athletes representing the United States have achieved great success personally and for the Nation; and Whereas the United States Olympic athletes have represented themselves and the Nation with extraordinary grace and courage: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, the athletes of the United States Olympic team are congratulated for their performance and achievements in the 1984 winter and summer Olympics and the Nation takes great pride in the qualities of commitment to excellence, grace under pressure, and good will toward other competitors exhibited by such athletes. Approved August 21, 1984.
