Mr. Elliman knows of only one spot where the moth occurs in any abundance and that is Start- ups End reservoir, where a row of willows may be seen stripped every year by the larvae. Single specimens have occurred now and then at Wil- stone reservoir. This observer is of opinion that the sluggish habits of the perfect insect account for its being so restricted in its distribution.
