The king and earl always (had) the soke of the whole. And all these freemen were worth 30 shillings then, now 53 (shillings) and 7 pence. And the manor was then worth 40 shillings, and afterwards 50, now 66 (shillings) and 6 pence, and is i league in length and 8 furlongs in breadth, and (pays) 2 shillings for geld. Then the whole was worth 4 pounds, and when Robert Blund held it the same (jimi/iter) ; now 7 pounds, and the freemen now 60 shillings. And it (sc. Eaton) is i league in length and I in breadth, and (pays) 7 pence, and I farthing for geld.
