Abundant by the estuary of the Adur at Shoreham and probably wherever the food plant. Aster tripolium, is common — vectisana, Westw. Abundant by the riverside at Shoreham among Triglochin maritimum, in the crowns of which the larvse feed — udana, Gn. Ditches near Lancing and Shoreham among Alisma plantago — notulana, Z. Lanes and roadsides at St. Johns Common (Vine) ; larvas probably of this species have been observed in stems of Lycopus europaeus in Abbots JVood and at Mundham (Fletcher)
