Mitra, HamendraNath, Rai Bahadur, Barrister-at-Law, Public Prosecutor, Nimar District, was born on 2nd August, 1866, and educated at the Hare School and Doveton College, Calcutta, and in London, where he was called to the Bar. He belongs to a good Kayastha family of Calcutta. His father was the late Babu Upendra Nath Mitra, Tagore Law Professor and author of a well known work on the " Law of Limitation and Prescription, " which his son, Hamendra Nath Mitra, edited for him.
