He is now in charge of the execution of the Lawley Water-works scheme at Chidambaram, which is esti- mated to cost nearly four lakhs. PlTRE, TRIMBAK JANARDHAN, Rao Saheb, Chief Officer of Sholapur Municipality, received his title on the occasion of the recent Coronation Durbar, in recognition of his services to the public. Address : Sholapur. Bombay Presidency. KuMTHEKAR, Balaji Hari, Rao Sahib, Honorary Assis- tant Engineer, Public Works Department, Bombay, was born on 21st October, 1855. and educated at Satara High School and the Poona Engineering College. His father was Secretary to the Raja of Mudhol State, where his family is settled. Mr. Kumthekar joined the Public Works Department in 1877, as Overseer, and served in the Southern Division of Bombay Presidency for seventeen years. His services were lent to the Savantwadi State as State Engineer for reorganizing the Public Works Department. He was deputed on Famine duty in Bijapur District, and subsequently for the same duty in Palan- pur State. He has constructed many important works in various divisions of the Presidency, and is now serving in the Superintending Engineer's Office as his Assistant. He retired from the service in April, 1912. His title was conferred on the occasion of the recent Coronation Durbar, in recognition of his public services. Club : Deccan Club, Poona.
