Dr. Chen Ta is a native of Yuhang, Hangchow, China. He studied Chinese at home under private tutorship, then went to the primary school of his district, and after graduation went to the Middle School at Hangchow. In 1911, he was admitted to Tsing Hua College, Peking. Five years later, he was sent to the United States for higher education. He received his A.
