Dr. Hsia Ching-lin

Dr. Hsia Ching-lin was born at Ningpo, Chekiang province, in 1894. He was brought up at Tientsin where his father had buen a merchant for many years. Dr. Hsia received his elementary education from the Tientsin Kiangsu Primary School from 1906 to 1910 and a middle school education at Tientsin Anglo-Chinese College from 1910 to 1914. In 1914 Dr. Hsia went to England as a private student. He studied at Mill Hill School, London, until 1916 when he was admitted to the University of Glasgow where he was graduated in 1919 with the degree of Bachelor of Science.
