Mr. Wong Kok-shan

(Wang Hsun)

Mr. Wong Kok Shan was born in 1872 in Kwangtung province and was educated first at home and then entered Queen's College in Hongkong. After graduation he was appointed a teacher in the Peiyang University of Tientsin in 1895. Later he gave up teaching work and became agent of the Chinese Engineering and Mining Company at Tientsin in 1896. In 1902 he was awarded the brevet rank of Taotai by the government. In 1903 he was appointed commissioner of the Canton-Hankow Railway and in 1905 was awarded the same position on the Shanghai-Nanking Railway. In 1908 he became commercial manager of the Han-yeh-ping Iron and Coal Company and in 1918 was appointed commercial manager of the Yangtsze Engineering Works at Hankow. At the present he is general manager of the Chung Hwa Steel Products Company, Ltd. of Shanghai.
