this manor 1 hide and a half, and has 1 ploughland and a half. Radulfus holds of the land of the villagers a hide and a half, where is 1 ploughland. When the abbot received poſſeſſion of the manor, it was valued at 8 pounds: now the demeſne alone is worth that ſum. What the men hold, is worth 40 ſhiilings.

10. The ſame church holds Gardone. Ulveva held it T.R.E. and it was then rated at 3 hides. Here are 6 ploughlands. One hide and a half is in demeſne, where are 1 ploughlands and 6 ſervants. Here are 5 villagers and 5 cottagers, who occupy 3 ploughlands. Two mills pay 25 ſhiilings. Here are 10 acres of meadow, and 10 acres of paſture. The wood is 3 quarters of a mile long, and 2 furlongs broad; and a burgage pays 3 ſhillings. It was valued at 60 ſhiilings now at 100.
