worth 14 pounds when the abbot took poſſeſſion; now 16 pounds. Edward holds of the ſame manor 4 hides, and Teodricus 4 hides. Here are 7 ploughlands, and there are ſo many with 2 villagers, 9 borderers, 7 cottagers, and 4 ſervants. There is a mill amongſt them of the value of 16 ſhillings. Here are 10 acres of meadow and 4 acres of thorns. The wood is 1 furlong ſquare. They are both worth 100 ſhillings. They who held theſe lands T. R. E. could not be removed from the church. The ſame Teodricus holds of the land of the villagers 1 hide, which the abbot gave to him. Edward alſo holds of the King 2 hides of this manor, and Giſlebertus of him. A certain Engliſh abbot took theſe hides from the demeſne of the church, and gave them to a certaia bailiff, and afterwards to a military man, who could not by any means be removed from the church. It is worth 40 ſhillings a year. Wilhelmus de Ow alſo holds of the ſame manor 1 hide, which
