(Wilbur) Kenyon (granddaughter of John Wilbur, noted Quaker preacher, who traveled and preached twice during his life in the British Isles and led a schism in his church, his followers being called the Wilburites); ed. Providence (R.I.) public schools; grad. with diploma from Providence High School, 1864; m. Providence, R.I., Oct. 6, 1869, James G. Bacon; one daughter: Alice Gary Bacon. Interested in the temperance question; mem. W.C.T.U., the Woman's Alliance (society connected with Unitarian Church of Hartford). Ardent advocate of woman suffrage; has addressed various organizations on the subject; vice-pres. at large Conn. Woman Suffrage Ass'n, 1892-1906; pres. 1906-10; pres. Hartford Equal Rights Club for past 20 years (club 28 years old; oldest suffrage club in State). Mem. First Unitarian Congregational Church of Hartford. Mem. Woman's Alliance, Conn. Peace Soc.
