Compiler of the following books: “Story Hour Favorites,” “Off Duty,” “Fillmore Folk Tales,” “The Magic Fairy Tales,” “Treasure Trails” (a series of four school readers), “Boys' Stories from the Youth's Companion” (in press), “Girls' Stories from the Youth's Companion” (in press). HARSHBARGER, Sallie Foster (Mrs.), born in Reno, Nevada, February 23, 1874, daughter of Asa Eastman and Sophia Steele Foster, a resident of California for 30 years. HARTZELL, Susie Prentice (Mrs.), born in St. Peter, Minnesota, resident of California for 23 years. Married to Herbert C. Hartzell. Taught in public schools of South Dakota. Active in civic affairs and a capable worker and organizer of women's activities. Has served as president of Central Colony Club of Madera County, also of Madera County Federation of Women's Clubs and the Madera Women's Improvement Club; at present secretary of San Joaquin Valley District Federation of Women's Clubs. HAVARD, Frances J. H. (Mrs.), born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, September 30, 1872, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Stepanek, pioneer residents of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Grandparents came to America in 1848. Lives in San Diego for the last fourteen years. Children: Harold Howard. Club woman. Rose lover and member of the S. D.
