LANDIS, Bertha Caroline (Mrs.), born in Smartsville, Yuba County, California, January 15, 1857, daughter of Hepsy W. and Orange M. Loveridge. Married to James Sansome Landis. LANE, Lucia M., (Miss), born November 21, 1856, in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of Colonel P. P. and Mrs. Sophia Bosworth Lane, a resident of California for the last 40 years. Physician and Surgeon. LANGSTROTH, Ann Reed, (Mrs.), born March 28, 1884, in Worcester, Massachusetts, daughter of Samuel and Leila Reed, a resident of California for two years. Married to Dr. Lovell Langstroth. Children: Lovell Jr. For ten years associate editor of the Survey Magazine, N. Y. Formerly connected with Henry Street Settlement, N. Y. Was a member of the staff of the Pittsburgh Survey, interested in social research, inter-racial understanding and vocational and adult education. Member: S. F. Women's City Club, S. F. LARKEY, Marie Aloysius, (Mrs.), born in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of T. J. Donahue, a resident of California for 25 years. Married to George Emory Larkey. Assistant Director, Vocational Education. Has been instrumental in developing the school garden movement in the Los Angeles City Schools; has supervised this work since 1912. This movement has been nationally recognized. Three times delegate to Democratic National Convention; this year's delegate to Houston Democratic National Convention. A leader in national politics.
