PORTER, Florence Collins, (Mrs.), born in Caribou, Maine, August 14, 1853, daughter of Samuel Wilson and Doras Hardison Collins, a native of California since 1900. Married to the late Rev. Charles W. Porter, Children: Charles Winthrop, Florence. Active in civic and political affairs. Former owner and editor of Aroostook Republican. Instrumental in forming National Women's Republican Club, N. Y. (1888). Identified with equal suffrage , movement in California. Delegate to Progressive partyNational Convention (1912). Presidential elector (1912). Delegate to Republican National Convention (1924); made seconding speech nominating Calvin Coolidge for president. President, Republican Women's Fed. of California (southern division). Active in club and civic affairs, having helped to build a Civic Building in Bellflower. Assists in Chamber of Commerce work and has held important offices in several organizations. PRIESTER, Alma Dorothy (Miss), born in Hollywood, California, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Priester.
