Obs. With the Gaelic vocalization of (v) into (u) compare French aurai fr. averai; reçu fr. recevu; saurai fr. saverai. This is on a par with aobhar, adhbhar 'cause, material' = (ˑɑɑur) in Munster.

Further features of the consonant System may be treated under Nasal Infection, Vocalic Infection (Aspiration and Elision), Metathesis, Assimilation, Dissimilation, Prosthesis, Epenthesis, Provection, Parasiticism (Inter-consonantal Vowel-Intercalation) and dialectal Dropping of initial and final consonants.
