Der Geist
[edit]In Fragment 80, Novalis uses the masculine pronoun "der Geist" throughout the section. The only masculine noun is Geist. But the English "it" is too ambiguous to identify the referent, so the noun mind was used for the pronoun "Geist"
Gemeingeist
[edit]Literally common spirit is translated in its semantic sense of sense of the common good.
Inzitation
[edit]Being consistent with "Inzitamenten" in Fragment 8 on page 112, "Inzitation" was also translated as incitation, as it is a synonym of Anregungen, thought this too seems related to the jargon of the Brunonian system of medicine
