Legibility of cover

Shouldn't this image be cleaned up a bit so it's not so dark as to be illegible? FPTI (talk) 21:58, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

@FPTI: It's perfectly legible to me, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I have included much darker ones than this, to the degree that without squinting they actually are illegible. And cover images are seen as optional at Wikisource anyway, having wide ranges of known problems such as bar codes and other stickers or markings obscuring bits of the covers, or the covers being in very bad physical condition. And those other problems are incredibly difficult to actually fix, with very little value long-term (especially for covers as mundane as this one is), so I generally see any kind of cover edits as enhancements rather than absolute necessities.

Yes, oh my gosh, sorry. I meant to mark this as something for me to do when I had access to photo-editing, I didn't want to make this a task for you. (I work weekends, so I'm a little off-kilter as to regular people's schedules. FPTI (talk) 02:10, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
