Duplicate portrait

[edit]

This portrait also appears (significantly smaller and with a different caption) opposite p. 348 in v. 2. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 23:17, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have replaced the v. 2 copy of the portrait with a portrait of Schurz as a brigadier general which makes more sense there and was what was used in another printingMcClure's edition of the book. And even for v. 3, it doesn't make sense since Schurz isn't in uniform. In the original McClure's magazine article, there was a photograph with Schurz in a major general's uniform. So I have substituted that to compensate for the editorial error, or whatever, that selected a portrait of Schurz in a civilian outfit here. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 20:47, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
