JUST WHERE I AM
Just where I am! Perchance my lot
'Mid brie, and thorns is cast;
No beat of drum to battle calls,
Each day in quiet passed.

Just where I am is ruled by thee;
The duty of each hour
Marked out for me, must not dismay,
I conquer by thy power.

Just where I am, amidst a round
Of little, common things,
I pray that, in thy strength, I may
Yet soar on angel wings.

Just where I am, by doing well,
A battlefield may be,
And daily steps a ladder prove,
Which leads to victory.
