TO A FRIEND, WITH A WREATH OF AMARANTHS.
ON NEW year's day.

The wreath which friendship forms,
Of amaranthine flowers,
Blooms fairest midst the storms,
And crowns life's fading hours.

May every passing year
With thee some blessing leave,
While all thy virtues here
A wreath in Heaven shall weave.
