"After two and one-half years of overseas service which took him around the world, T-Sgt. Ray C. Gill, former Argus-Leader employee, is home for the first time in three years on a 21-day furlough. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Gill, 715 West Third St. Sgt. Gill, in personnel work with a headquarters office, left New York in July, 1942, and landed in Egypt the following month, three months previous to the African invasion and arrived at a California port this month."
