JPRS was a United States government office that translated foreign language books, newspapers, journals, unclassified foreign documents and research reports. It was established in 1957.
In 1995, JPRS was absorbed into the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS), a component of the Central Intelligence Agency.
