	In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful.	Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
073:001	O you cloaked one.	Ya ayyuha almuzzammilu
073:002	Stand the night except for a little.	Qumi allayla illa qaleelan
073:003	Half of it, or a little less than that.	Nisfahu awi onqus minhu qaleelan
073:004	Or a little more, and arrange the Quran in its arrangement.	Aw zid AAalayhi warattili alqur-ana tarteelan
073:005	We will place upon you a saying which is heavy.	Inna sanulqee AAalayka qawlan thaqeelan
073:006	The time of the night is more effective and better for study.	Inna nashi-ata allayli hiya ashaddu wat-an waaqwamu qeelan
073:007	For you have many duties during the day.	Inna laka fee alnnahari sabhan taweelan
073:008	And remember the name of your Lord, and devote to Him completely.	Waothkuri isma rabbika watabattal ilayhi tabteelan
073:009	The Lord of the east and the west, there is no god but He, so take Him as a protector.	Rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi la ilaha illa huwa faittakhithhu wakeelan
073:010	And be patient over what they say, and depart from them in a good manner.	Waisbir AAala ma yaqooloona waohjurhum hajran jameelan
073:011	And leave Me to deal with the deniers who have been given the good things, and give them time for a while.	Watharnee waalmukaththibeena olee alnnaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleelan
073:012	We have with Us chains and a raging fire.	Inna ladayna ankalan wajaheeman
073:013	And food that chokes, and a painful retribution.	WataAAaman tha ghussatin waAAathaban aleeman
073:014	The Day the Earth and the mountains shake, and the mountains become crumbling sand.	Yawma tarjufu al-ardu waaljibalu wakanati aljibalu katheeban maheelan
073:015	We have sent to you a messenger as a witness over you, as We have sent to Pharaoh a messenger.	Inna arsalna ilaykum rasoolan shahidan AAalaykum kama arsalna ila firAAawna rasoolan
073:016	But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We took him in a severe manner.	FaAAasa firAAawnu alrrasoola faakhathnahu akhthan wabeelan
073:017	So how can you be righteous if you have rejected, on a Day when the children become grey haired?	Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum yawman yajAAalu alwildana sheeban
073:018	The heaven will crack with it. His promise is always delivered.	Alssamao munfatirun bihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoolan
073:019	This is a reminder, so let he who wishes take a path to his Lord.	Inna hathihi tathkiratun faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeelan

Your Lord knows that you rise a little less than two thirds of the night, and half of it, and one third of it, as well as a group of those who are with you. And God measures the night and the day. He knows that you will not be able to keep-up, so He pardons you. So study what is made easy of the Quran. He knows that there will be sick among you, and others that venture out in the land seeking from God's bounty, and others who are fighting in the cause of God, so study what you can of it. And hold the contact-method and contribute towards betterment and give God a loan of righteousness. And whatever you put forth yourselves, you will find it with God, for it is better and a greater reward. And seek God's forgiveness, for God is Forgiving, Merciful.

Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adna min thuluthayi allayli wanisfahu wathuluthahu wata-ifatun mina allatheena maAAaka waAllahu yuqaddiru allayla waalnnahara AAalima an lan tuhsoohu fataba AAalaykum faiqraoo ma tayassara mina alqur-ani AAalima an sayakoonu minkum marda waakharoona yadriboona fee al-ardi yabtaghoona min fadli Allahi waakharoona yuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahi faiqraoo ma tayassara minhu waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waaqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan wama tuqaddimoo li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahi huwa khayran waaAAthama ajran waistaghfiroo Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
