Dark Hair
That together this one night
We may weep over life’s woes
And mourn our fate,
I have come in the rain.
On the leaves of the clematis by the eaves,
Raindrops sound from time to time;
In the room men are silent,
And the night sinks deeply.
Filled with sorrow that rends our souls,
We sit speechless;
But unable to bear it any longer,
I take your hand and rise.
