GIRDLES

BASIC FEATURES PROVIDED FOR SPIRELLA GIRDLES

Back Lacing
Back Lacing

Back Lacing

This feature may be ordered in the 4320, 4161 and 4130 Series. It is a soft lacing extending from top to bottom in centre back. The eyelets are concealed by flat lapels. The Back Lacing enables the client to regulate the tightness or looseness at any point as may be required.

2 inches even space from top to bottom is allowed in the design for this Basic Feature.

This means that 2 inches of the size of the garment is taken up by the lacing space.

Inner Belt
Inner Belt

Inner Belt

This feature may be ordered in the 4161 and 4130 Series. It cannot be introduced when the Basic Feature of Girdle Top is used. The Inner Belt designed to be used with girdles is front-laced, boned with Spirella, fastened at the side with hooks and eyes. The measurements of the belt: for each style have been worked out in harmony with the measurements of the outer part of the garment. (It should be understood, however, that the outer part of the garment does not always give as smooth and pleasing an appearance when the Inner Belt is used.) The built-in control and support features in Spirella Girdles are adequate to meet the needs in most cases without the use of an Inner Belt. The belt is designed for use in the exceptional case where for any reason it may be desirable to secure a definite control over the major part of the abdomen independent of the control in the outer part of the garment. It is recommended only where, for some good reason, the client cannot wear a corset and cannot be satisfactorily cared for in a girdle without a belt.

Elastic Gores in Skirt

This feature may be ordered in the 4320, 4161 and 4130 Series. The gore is placed in the skirt of the garment at the bottom of the hip seam in the 4161 and 4130 Series, and at the bottom of the second seam from the front in the 4320 Series. It is recommended to provide additional ease and freedom to the figure in the sitting position:

Front Hook and Eye Fastening

This feature may be ordered in the 4320 Series instead of the front clasp provided in the Basic Design. When the hook and eye fastening is ordered the hooks and eyes will extend from the top to the bottom of the garment in centre front and the garment will carry elastic gores in the skirt on each side as illustrated. The hook and eye fastening gives a softer, more flexible front and is preferred by some clients.

Side Hook and Eye Fastening in 60 and 30 Type Girdles

Side Hook and Eye Fastening

This feature may be ordered in the 4161 and 4130 Series. When the hook and eye fastening is ordered, the fastening will be at the left side and the garment will carry a flat stay in centre front with elastic gores in the skirt on each side see illustration.

The hooks and eyes at the side make a soft, flexible and convenient fastening with a smooth effect across the front of the figure.

Girdle Top

Girdle Top

The garments in the 4320, 4161 and 4130 Series may be ordered with "Girdle Top" according to measurements given under each series. The Girdle Top Feature may be combined with the Basic Features of Front or Side Hook and Eye Fastening.

The Inner Belt cannot be introduced into a garment made with Girdle Top. For the client with diaphragm flesh it would not be wise to order the Girdle Top as the higher garment gives better lines.
