CORSETS
BASIC FEATURES PROVIDED FOR SPIRELLA CORSETS
Concealed Back Lacing |
Concealed Back Lacing
A lapel extending from the top to the bottom of the garment on each side of the lacing. The free side of the lapel covers the eyelets and the turn of the lacer as it comes up through the eyelets. (See illustration.)
This feature gives a flat, smooth surface over the top of the lacing and prevents the lacing from showing through the gown.
Inner Belt
This feature may be ordered in the 763, 361, 9064, 732, 530 and 9137 Series.
The Inner Belt designed for use in back-laced corsets is a front-laced belt, boned with Spirella fastened at the side with hooks and eyes. (See illustration.)
Inner Belt in Back-Laced Corset |
Inner Belt in Front-Laced Corset |
The Inner Belt designed for use in front-laced corsets is made
with hook and eye
fastening in centre
front and side lacings.
(See illustration.)
The measurements of the belt for each style have been worked out in harmony with the measurements of the outer part of the garment. (It should be understood that the outer part of the garment does not always give as smooth and pleasing an appearance when the Inner Belt is used.) The built-in control and support features in Spirella Corsets are adequate to meet the needs in most cases without the use of an Inner Belt. The belt is designed for use in the exceptional case, where for any reason it may be desirable to secure a definite control over the major part of the abdomen independent of the control in the outer part of the garment. It is recommended only where for some good reason the client cannot be satisfactorily cared for in a corset without a belt.
Elastic Gores in Skirt
This feature may be ordered in the 124, 9027, 9821, 763, 9064, 9861 and 9831 Series. The gore is placed in the skirt of the garment at the bottom of the hip seam. It is recommended to provide additional ease and freedom to the figure in the sitting position.
Close Fitting Skirt
This feature may be ordered in the 124, 9027, 763, 9064, 732 and 9137 Series.
It consists of a wide elastic gore across the bottom of the first wide section from the centre front on each side see illustration.
Close Fitting Skirt |
The Basic Feature of Close Fitting Skirt provides a smooth, close fit
from the plane of abdominal control to the bottom of the garment.
Through the stretch of the elastic room is afforded to allow for the
spread of the figure in the sitting position.
This feature prevents the possibility of the skirt of the corset showing through the outer clothing in the standing position.
When this feature is ordered in the 732 and 9137 Series the garment will be made without the regular elastic gore at hip seam. The Basic Feature of Close Fitting Skirt can not be ordered in the same garment with the Basic Feature of Elastic Gores in Skirt.
Note In specializing the skirt length when this Basic Feature is used, the proportionate line around the bottom of the garment must be preserved in order to accommodate the insertion of the elastic.
Elastic at Top
This feature is designed for use in the 124 Series only. It consists of a straight piece of elastic at the top of the second section on each side in the front. It provides for the client of slender figure who for any reason desires more freedom in her garment above the waist line than is provided in the Basic Design.
