| Notes: | The different departments issued their own orders incorporating the change, but I can't seem to find any which printed Roosevelt's exact order (possibly because they were treated as amended to previous departmental orders which followed the original executive order). The main source is the Department of the Interior version; others include the War Department, Commerce Department, Treasury Department, and others.
The Volume 2 index to the 1944 "Presidential Executive Order" book edited by Clifford Lee Lord indicates that there was also an Executive Order 319-1 in 1905 which amended the same original order, however, that is not listed at all in the actual Volume 1 listing, so I'm not sure it actually exists. |
