• The "letters of another type" on pp. 393-400 were printed in a less-cursive and slightly bolder italic font. In this edition they are only distinguished as bold (${\displaystyle {\boldsymbol {r,x,y,z}}}$ instead of ${\displaystyle r,x,y,z}$), so these pages should be read with care.
• on pp. 408-410 a Greek letter Omega ${\displaystyle \Omega }$ has been used in place of the ascending node symbol .
• similarly on pp. 410-411 a Greek letter Upsilon ${\displaystyle \Upsilon }$ has been used in place of the "First Point of Aries" symbol .
