Ethers or esters?[edit]

Ether is used multiple time to describe amyl acetate, ethyl formate, and methyl salicylate but these are widely described in literature as esters. Esters and ethers are two distinct classes of chemical compounds, but maybe there is a gray area. Could anyone clarify? Sci.girl (talk) 17:53, 7 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
