As it stands to-day the text on the article page does not appear to be consistent with the version of The Nights that I possess. There are enough similarities of wording in the early part of the article to suggest that it comes from someone who drew on Burton, but some passages are missing, and I have not regained the thread of the story from the point where in my version the fisherman begins The Tale of the Wazir and the Sage Duban Unfortunately, our original contributor left no clue as to where he got this material.

As a whole it needs to be remembered that The Nights is a very long complex of multi-level nested tales, and sometimes I wonder whether Burton even managed to confuse himself over this It is absolutely worth including in Wikisource. The main thread is told in ten volumes to which were appended a further seven volumes of supplemental tales which Burton found in other sources. Cleaning up this page will require considerable work.
