Talk:The Gods of Pegāna

In my original (? - undated) edition of the Gods of Pegana (Boston, John W. Luce & Company), given to my father by my mother on his birthday in 1940, there is a clearly marked Preface that is different from what is here, and is as follows:

Preface[edit]

There be islands in the Central Sea, whose waters are bounded by no shore and where no ships come — this is the faith of their people.

end of section[edit]

Then, my edition has a Table of Contents and a List of Illustrations (the original S. H. Sime illustrations), and it is followed by a separate page in an unlabeled section that contains the text you have labeled as the "PREFACE", followed by, on the next page, a major title of "The Gods of Pegana" with an enormous ornamental letter "B" to start the first word of "Before there stood gods upon Olympus".

I find that whenever I tell anyone about the Gods of Pegana, that it is very useful to recite both this Preface as well as the text that you list as the PREFACE in order to tell people about the work.

Since I am just starting in my work with Wikipedia and WikiSource, I thought I would not immediately edit the actual work to find out if I had missed some steps before doing this.
