Confusing/inconsistent references[edit]

The source edition exhibits a variety of citation styles. Some sections conclude in numbered refences, some in an un-numbered list; some have in-text footnotes followed by numbered references, and other sections have a mix of the above styles (there may be some in-text footnotes that were lost in the scanning/DJVU conversion process.) I’ve used <ref></ref> on all clearly identifiable in-text footnotes I found, which currently appear at the end of the document.
