Notes: | The testator was the foundress of "Paige's Almshouses", still standing and in charitable use, in Church Lane, Barnstaple. She was the sister of Thomas Horwood (1600-1658), twice Mayor of Barnstaple, in 1640 and 1653, whose own almshouse adjoins. She was the sister-in-law of Gilbert I Paige (c.1595-1647) twice Mayor of Barnstaple in 1629 and 1641. Her husband's first name is unknown. |
