  1. பொக்கவாய்ச்சி மெச்சினாளாம் பொரிமாலை.
    It is said that a toothless dame appreciated the rice flour.
  2. பொங்கும் காலம் புளி பூக்கும், மங்கும் காலம் மா பூக்கும்.
    In times of plenty the tamarind tree blossoms, in times of scarcity the mango bears in abundance.
  3. பொதி அளக்கிறதற்குமுன்னே சத்தத்திற்கு அளக்கிறதா?
    Am I to measure out the hire, before measuring out the load?
  4. பொதியை வைத்து விட்டுப் பிச்சைக்குப் போனான், அதையும் வைத்து விட்டுச் செத்துக் கிடந்தான்.

    The mouth accustomed to lies will be deprived of even parched corn.
  11. பொய் சொல்லி வாழ்ந்தவனும் இல்லை, மெய் சொல்லிக் கெட்டவனும் இல்லை.
    No one ever prospered by telling lies, no one was ever reduced to poverty by speaking truth.
  12. பொய் மெய்யை வெல்லுமா?
    Will falsehood conquer truth?
  13. பொய்யான பொருளாசை மெய்யான அருளாசையை விலக்குகிறது.
    The false love of money, will take away the real love of divine grace.
