Usage[edit]

This helps create simple, standardized forms for Executive Orders from United States Presidents. Before using this template, create the page Author:Example/Executive orders and include {{EOstart}}. Then include this template with the following parameters:

  • year: the year in question: this will create a subheading for every year of the person′s administration with a separate table divided by year. Required.
  • name: the conventional name of the president whose page you are editing. Required.
  • first: the number of the first executive order in this table. Required.
  • last: the number of the last executive order in this table. Required.
  • frvol: the volume of Federal Register that includes these executive orders. Required.

Note that Grover Cleveland is a unique case, having served two non-consecutive terms, so his page should not use this template. If someone wants to put in the effort to make this flexible enough for his executive orders page, go for it. Otherwise, it should just be copied and pasted manually into his page.

Once you have added this template, continue to {{EOyear}}, adding one instance for every year that person was president.

Example[edit]

{{EOyear
|year=1993
|name=Bill Clinton
|first=12834
|last=12889
|frvol=58
}}

results in:

1993

Bill Clinton Executive Orders of 1993
WikiProject [ 3 CFR, 1993 Comp. ] 1993 · Executive Orders 12834–12889
Signed Subject Vol. 58 FR Page

Note that actually transcluding this template on this documentation page would introduce unwanted behavior, such as a level-2 header that does not belong and an incomplete table. When transcluded in the Author namespace, with the rest of its sister templates, it will work as expected.
